WDM Scotland 2008 Highlights

Mavuto Bamusi, a trade campaigner from Malawi, joins Benedict Southworth and Kirstie Shirra, who left WDM in March after 5 years.

 

WDM organised a fun Christmas fundraiser with Jubilee Scotland and musicians at Edinburgh's Bongo Club.

 

WDM volunteers and groups took the message to the streets and got thousands of climate bill postcards signed.

 

Adult learners on WDM's World-wise course in Oxgangs practice their lobbying skills in comfort with Robin Harper MSP.

 

The Glasgow group, following the Ayr model, organised a great pub quiz in the summer to raise funds for WDM.

 

Simon Bateson, World-wise Project Officer, joins Norman Chipakupaku, Marian Pallister and Cabinet Secretary Linda Fabiani at the GFT during the Take One Action film festival.

 

WDM supporters join the national climate march in Glasgow in December with the giant WDM inflatable aeroplane.

 

Cabinet Secretary John Swinney MSP accepts more than 1500 postcards from Liz Murray, WDM's new head of campaigns and networks in Scotland, on behalf of WDM Scotland supporters calling for a strong Scottish climate change bill.
