About this site

Accessibility

This site has been designed to conform to the Web Accessibility Initiative's triple-A standard.* Access keys have been assigned to the Home button and Skip Navigation link to help users who have difficulty in using pointing devices such as a mouse (Windows: alt-1 for Home, alt-2 for Skip Navigation; Mac: ctrl-1 for Home, ctrl-2 for Skip Navigation). Users can use the tab key to move through the navigation in a logical order.

Web standards and compatibility

The site has been designed to adhere to the World Wide Web Consortium's web standards so that it is readable in a variety of settings and for use with a screen reader.* It can be accessed through any browser, but is best viewed with Internet Explorer 5+, Netscape 6+, Opera 7+, or any version of Safari, Mozilla or Firefox. The site makes limited use of Javascript and can be used without it. (Some older pages on this site may not be standards-compliant.)

Sending and printing pages

If you know someone who might be interested in reading one of our pages, you can click the 'Send to a friend' button on the right-hand side of each article.

If you want to print out a page to read later, click 'Print this page'. All the pages of this website are printer-friendly, so there is no need to switch to a special 'print' version of that page.
